Terms of service

Last updated: June 27, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using devbio.me (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What devbio.me is

devbio.me is a developer-focused bio platform. You compose a public bio at devbio.me/{you}, generate a printable resume PDF, optionally connect a payment gateway to surface live revenue, and (optionally) list a project on our verified-revenue marketplace.

3. Accounts

You sign in via Google or GitHub OAuth. You're responsible for the security of those underlying accounts. One account per person. Don't share credentials.

4. Slug + URL ownership

Bio slugs (devbio.me/{slug}) are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. We reserve the right to reclaim slugs that:

  • Impersonate a real person, brand, or trademark in bad faith.
  • Have been inactive (no published bio) for longer than 12 months on Free.
  • Are reserved system handles (admin, support, www, api, etc.).
  • Were obtained through automation or bulk registration.

We don't auction or sell premium slugs. If you change your slug, your old slug becomes available — we don't set up automatic redirects, because someone else may legitimately claim it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Publish content that is illegal, defamatory, or violates intellectual property rights.
  • Impersonate another person or company.
  • Run phishing campaigns, malware distribution, or scams (including misleading vanity-redirects).
  • Misrepresent the revenue of a marketplace listing — every published integration must point to an account you actually own and that genuinely generated the revenue we display.
  • Scrape the public bios in bulk for resale or automated harvesting.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.

6. Content ownership

You own everything you put on your bio — text, images, project descriptions, uploaded media. You grant devbio.me a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the Service. That license ends when you delete the content or the account.

For content you publish to the marketplace specifically, you also grant us a license to display aggregate revenue metrics + your project metadata on the marketplace homepage, category pages, and detail pages until you delist the project.

7. Marketplace + revenue integrations

Listings on /marketplace require a connected payment-gateway integration with real read-only credentials. The numbers we display come directly from your payment provider; we don't edit them.

  • Verification. By connecting an integration you confirm the underlying account is yours and the revenue figures genuinely belong to you.
  • For-sale listings. Asking prices, anonymity, and acquisition terms are between you and prospective buyers. devbio.me is not a broker, escrow agent, or party to any transaction. We don't charge a commission on acquisitions sourced via the marketplace.
  • Fraud. Falsifying revenue, displaying numbers from accounts you don't own, or listing a project you don't have the right to sell is grounds for immediate termination and may have additional legal consequences.

8. Custom domains

On Pro you can point a custom domain at your bio via a CNAME. You're responsible for the DNS configuration, domain ownership, and the legal implications of hosting your bio on that domain. We can refuse to map a domain we believe is being used for fraud or trademark infringement.

9. Subscription + payments

Pro features require an active subscription processed by Dodo Payments. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future charges but doesn't refund the current period. You can manage your subscription from /dashboard/billing.

Refunds: we issue refunds at our discretion for billing errors or genuinely broken features within 14 days of the charge. Email [email protected].

10. Plan limits + rate limits

Both plans have soft limits (max projects, max integrations, monthly bio-edit cap on Free) documented on the pricing page. We may apply rate limits to public endpoints (resume PDFs, OG images, JSON feeds) to keep the Service available under load. We'll do our best to scale before throttling.

11. Service availability

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (Cloudflare, MongoDB, Dodo), and unforeseen incidents may affect uptime. No SLA is offered on either plan.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms — for material violations we'll usually warn first; for fraud / abuse we may act immediately. After termination, public content is removed within minutes and underlying data deleted on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be error-free or always available.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, devbio.me is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) US$50.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify devbio.me for claims brought by third parties arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

16. Changes to these terms

We'll post material changes here at least 14 days before they take effect and email account holders. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our principal place of business. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless local consumer-protection law mandates otherwise.
